About Us

The Remedy Collective was born out of a simple but deeply felt belief — that wellness is real, tangible, and rooted in community. Founded by Varrita Siryon and Claire McGee, two longtime friends and SOMA locals, it's a dream that took root years ago and finally found its moment to bloom.

Together, we bring over a decade of experience working in this community — in yoga, somatic energy work, retail, and product sourcing. The Remedy Collective is the natural coming together of all of that.

We believe in ancient wisdom, modern life, and the beauty of slowing down. In products that are thoughtfully chosen, practices that are grounding, and a community that shows up for each other. Everything we carry and every service we offer is guided by that intention — to support your whole self, without the overwhelm.

The Soma community has been our home for most of our lives. Though our paths looked very different on the surface, they were always moving in the same direction. After nearly fifteen years of friendship, the idea of doing something together had always lived somewhere in the back of our minds — casually brought up, laughed about, and genuinely meant all at the same time. As our paths deepened and our experience grew, the conversation shifted from "one day" to "why not now." And when the timing finally aligned, it didn't feel like a leap. It just felt right.

When we finally decided to make it real, it made complete sense. Varrita's background in yoga, somatic healing, and holistic wellness alongside Claire's background in retail, curation, and community. Two different skill sets, one shared belief — that wellness should be intentional, meaningful, and genuinely rooted in the community around you.

Meet Varrita

Varrita's journey into wellness began with her own healing. After a competitive gymnastics career left her with chronic pain, she turned to yoga — and what started as a search for physical relief became something much deeper. Over the next fifteen years she devoted herself to study and practice, training across multiple disciplines and traveling to India twice to deepen her understanding of yoga, Ayurveda, and mindfulness. She became a Licensed Massage and Bodywork Therapist, a Reiki Master, and a practitioner of somatic experiencing for trauma healing. Teaching, guiding, and supporting others on their wellness journeys became not just her career, but her calling.

Meet Claire

Claire's roots are in community and craft. A Maplewood native, she spent over a decade working locally in retail — learning the art of curation, building genuine relationships with her neighbors, and finding real meaning in the everyday moments that come with serving the people around you. Her path took some unexpected turns along the way — six years of freelance production work that brought her through the doors of Radio City Music Hall, Lincoln Center, and beyond, affording her the chance to work alongside some of her idols and witness moments she'll never forget. Time spent abroad in Israel left a lasting personal imprint, and years spent honing a love of hand lettering, crafting, and making beautiful things from salvaged materials kept her grounded in creativity. Through all of it, she kept finding her way back to the same things — community, craft, and a deep appreciation for simplicity and realness.

The Remedy Collective is the result of all of it. We're so glad you're here for it.
